Students also enjoy learning experiences in coding and STEM.

Our Out of School Hours (OOSH) Care is available in the mornings and afternoons and is operated by CatholicCare.

Our maker space promotes learning through play and technology to create and design.

St Joseph's also offer a great range of other co-curricular activities for students – including creative arts opportunities, sports, leadership and environmental initiatives, and more.

At Joseph’s we promote the growth and development of students as individuals in relationship with others and within the community.

• Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB₄L) – Our school-wide 'Positive Behaviours for Learning' approach supports students as they learn the expectations of our community and to get along with each other. Our school rules are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.
• Transition to Kindergarten Playgroup and Buddies – Students new to Kindergarten love our playgroup program. The sessions are run in the October and November before they start school. Play-based learning continues into the Kindergarten program of learning. Kindergarten students are also supported by their Buddies in Year 5.
• Awards – At St Joseph’s, we encourage all students to be as good as they can be in all areas of learning and school life. Awards include class awards, weekly Merit Awards, Principal’s Awards and Medal, Academic Achievement Awards, Mary MacKillop Awards and the Habits of Mind Awards.
• Social Skills Group – This group is available at lunchtimes for students to develop social skills and confidence with their peers.
• The Friendship Bench – Located on the grass area, students happily look out for those who need a friend to play with on the playground.

Welcome and hospitality are important to us at St Joseph’s. We strive to be a connected and welcoming community and we value the engagement of parents and families in the school life in any way they can.

Our parents and carers are very engaged with the school and take up opportunities such as P&F events, working bees, information evenings, parent/teacher meetings, liturgies and masses. Our volunteers also assist in classrooms, the canteen and library.

As a Catholic community students learn about their faith and also take up the call to faith in action.

Our Mini Vinnies group meet and act upon the needs of others in the spirit of St Vincent de Paul.

The School Environment Management Plan provides opportunities for students to be involved in:

• worm farm
• recycling program
• St Vincent de Paul Society Earn and Return program

Catholic schools strive to keep fees as low as possible so that more families can choose a Catholic education for their children.

In keeping with Gospel values, no child is refused a Catholic education due to financial inability or difficulty.

New or existing parents who find themselves in this situation are encouraged to discuss fee concessions with the school principal who will treat the situation with understanding, sensitivity and confidentiality. It is the expectation that families with the capacity to contribute do so, so that our schools can maintain the high quality of education that Catholic education is known for and our families expect.
